The ability to understand and utilize science in a DWI or drug charge is crucial to a successful criminal defense. We never accept police evidence at face value because officers make mistakes, and evidence is often scientifically or procedurally flawed. Breath testing machines give inaccurate results. Police improperly conduct blood tests. Blood samples, if improperly preserved, can ferment and generate their own alcohol, and if not proven calibrated and in good working order, a breath tester is worthless.   Even with perfect equipment, a mere burp near testing time, or some bleeding in the mouth, or even bridgework, can render a breath test invalid . We analyze, then vigorously challenge “science” in the case against you, to dismantle the prosecution’s proof.
